Eid Mubarak is a traditional Arabic greeting used to congratulate someone on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha. It means "blessed festival" and is a way to express happiness and joy on these important holidays. Muslims around the world celebrate Eid al-Fitr, which marks the end of Ramadan, the holy month of fasting, and Eid al-Adha, which commemorates the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) to sacrifice his son Ishmael (Ismael) as an act of obedience to Allah (God). During these festivals, people exchange gifts, visit family and friends, and engage in prayer and communal meals. In addition to Eid Mubarak, other common greetings used during Eid include "Eid Sa'id" (Happy Eid) and "Kul 'am wa enta bi-khair" (May every year find you in good health).
